Here at Claddagh Creative, we’re always chitting and chatting about the power of giving your copywriting the boost it needs.
If you’re not entirely sure what a copywriter does, have a read of this post here, but long story short, they are in charge of anything to do with the written word within your marketing materials.
If you’re still here, let’s face it: you want to find out how to improve your copy.
And we’re not talking about hiring somebody.
We’re talking about what you can do right here, right now.
Headings. When your consumers are skimming (which, trust us, they will), headings trigger people to either read on or click off. Headings hold a lot of responsibility. So, what can you do right now to make them better?
Show some personality. Are you showing the people behind the brand? Bring out your best bits into your copy. Trust us, it makes the world of difference. Here’s how:
Emphasise benefits over features. People want to know why something will change their lives or /make their lives better. For example, if you’re a Pilates instructor introducing more weekend classes, the feature would be the extra classes. The benefits would be that people who have a busy work schedule can take time to prioritise their health.
We have a million more ways for you to improve your copy. But it’s all about getting 1% better each day.
It’s get lost in the world of what everybody else is doing. Of course, it’s important to conduct competitor research, but just because you’re seeing somebody do something that is working doesn’t mean you should neglect your entire personality to be more like them.
Your people are out there, and they connect with real human interaction.
If you have a question about the above (or you really need help doing it yourself), get in touch with our copywriting team. We’re always happy to jump in and write some gorgeous copy.
