Social Media Assistant and Copywriter (Part-Time Manchester Based)
What we’re looking for:
Claddagh Creative is looking for a social and copywriting-obsessed individual to join our team as a Social Media Assistant + Copywriter.
We’re looking for someone who is interested in working with sustainable e-commerce brands, is organised, collaborative, and detail-oriented, and who really wants to grow in this industry.
This is for you if:
- You have previous experience in a social media role
- You have previous experience within a role that involved some form of copywriting
- You love both Social Media Marketing + Copywriting, and you're willing to put in the work to grow your skillset
This isn’t for you if:
- This role will combine both social media + copywriting, so it’s important that you have a love for both; if you have experience in social media but not in copywriting or vice versa and you are not 100% sure if you like both, then this isn’t for you
- You are not able to ‘professionally context switch’ what we mean by this is a social and copywriting job within an agency can mean a lot of back and forth and having to do a few things simultaneously; this type of skill goes beyond organisational skills, and if you feel like its something you can handle we’d love to hear from you!
Duties and responsibilities:
- Taking a client's social media strategy and working with the wider team to implement it
- Strategising with the client and the wider team on campaigns and content ideas to grow and elevate the client accounts
- Aspects of community management and engagement will be involved
- Strategising stories, and posting ideas for clients and implementing them
- Using content given by the client to edit together reels and video content
- Writing blogs, emails and social media captions
- Research on trend topics in regards to blogs, emails and social media
- There will be other tasks not listed above that will be required that relate to social and or copywriting in some form
Essential skills:
- Understanding of social media platforms such as Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and TikTok.
- Initiative to not only improve but to ask for help
- Inquisitive nature and a true desire to learn and improve - in regards to copywriting, social media and sustainability
- The ability to spot a problem, come up with a solution and resolve it
- Organisational skills are essential, social media marketing can be quite overwhelming and this skill of truly being able to be organised is much more rare
- Excellent written and verbal skills

Now let me clarify: there is a difference between being obsessed with consuming content on social and being obsessed with the why behind it
The specifics:
Pay: £14 - £17 per hour depending on experience
Role type: Part-time contractor, working 16 hours per week split over two days
Start date: May 1st, with the potential to start earlier
Experience needed: Minimum one year of social media and copywriting experience (please don’t apply if you haven’t got any social media or copywriting experience)
Key to note:
- Support will be provided, and training
- You must be based in Manchester, United Kingdom
- This will be 2 days per week with 1 of the days per week being in person in Manchester City Centre
- This is a contractor role you will be liable to pay your own tax and file, although this position has the opportunity to come completely in-house.T
